Founded in 1956 as Bancroft North End( Preston North End –UK), later renamed Bancroft Blades (Sheffield Utd-UK), Konkola Blades Football Club boasts a rich football history deeply rooted in the key Mining town of Chililabombwe (croaking Frog) in Zambia’s Copperbelt Province. With iconic team colors of red, Navy blue, White, and Yellow, and a symbolic’ frog on the Ball’, Konkola Blades commands attention both on and off the pitch. The Club plays it’s
home matches at the renowned Konkola Stadium, a 21,000 capacity venue located in Chililabombwe. The stadium has hosted many memorable fixtures for both the club and Zambia’s Men’s National Team.
Currently competing in the Zambian Premier League (National Division One), Konkola Blades is affiliated with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ). Supported by its principal sponsors, Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), and the local community, the club remains an integral part of Zambian football.
